This morning, the North Carolina Court of Appeals issued a unanimous decision in favor of Patterson Harkavy attorney Narendra Ghosh's client.
In State v. Jaimes, the Court held that a trial court erred in permitting the State to amend a criminal indictment to change the name of the alleged victim from "Hernandez Jr." to "Hernandez Sr." The Court of Appeals held the alteration was substantial, that the trial court lacked authority for the amendment, and therefore voided the defendant's conviction of that charge
